I'll overwhelm 'serious boxer' Jake Paul - Anthony Joshua

Anthony Joshua and Jake Paul face-off

The British boxer will face Jake Paul in an eight-bout match which will be shown in real-time on the streaming platform.

Briton Joshua said he will "stamp all over" the American and "overpower" his opponent as the pair came face-to-face to build hype for next month's heavyweight fight.

Ex twice unified boxing king Anthony Joshua faces social media star turned fighter Jake Paul - in what is, theoretically, a massive uneven pairing - at Miami arena on 19 December.

Fighter's Mentality

"I'm going to break his face and hurt his body. My goal is to show I'm superior," the British boxer, 35, said.

"I'll stamp all over him. That's how fighters think.

"I will seriously aim to cause him pain. That's my goal."

Respectful Interaction

Despite such comments, a composed Anthony Joshua and social media star Paul - typically known for his theatrics - were respectful and kept it respectful with each other.

Jake Paul instead targeted former Joshua's opponent Francis Ngannou and called him "ridiculous" after the Cameroonian rejected a match opportunity.

Taking Aim at Fury

Joshua, in the meantime, took aim at British rival Tyson Fury - and refused a large bet 'The Gypsy King' states he will put on a victory for Paul.

"[Paul] is better than Fury - he's present here," the boxer stated.

"I acknowledge that."

Legitimate Fighter

Despite stating he plans to hurt Jake Paul, Anthony Joshua chose not to comment unfavorably about his opponent's fighting skills.

"Jake is a serious fighter," he said.

Paul's Background

Jake Paul - who initially became famous on the television network - has primarily boxed MMA fighters or past-their-prime fighters since turning professional.

He lost to British fighter Fury in last year.

Commercial Success

However, the novice remains one of the sport's biggest money-making draws, regularly earning substantial paydays.

Forecast and Confidence

The 28-year-old forecast a stoppage in round four or five and claimed he would derail the much-anticipated Joshua–Fury fight, which is reportedly under discussion for 2026.

"It's going to be me versus Tyson Fury in the coming year," Jake Paul said.

Size Difference

As the two fighters participated in the traditional face-off, with their size difference evident, it drove home just how unlikely this whole event is - and how remarkable it is that the fight is actually happening.
